Competitiveness is a key factor in thesuccessful economic development of individualeconomies. The subject of research in thispaper is twofold. Competitiveness of theeconomy of the Republic of Serbia is analyzedin the first part of the paper, while thecomparative advantages of the agriculturalsector, which has a significant contribution tothe overall economic development of thecountry, is presented in the second part. Thecompetitiveness of the economy of theRepublic of Serbia was assessed on the basisof the Global Competitiveness Index of theWorld Economic Forum, whose methodologywas significantly changed in 2018. The index ofthe revealed comparative advantage (RCAindex) was used to analyse thecompetitiveness of the agricultural sector ofSerbia in exchange with the world, in theperiod 2010- 2019.
