The current study examines the role of coniferous woody plants in the formation of all-season aesthetically attractivecompositions in the greening of large industrial cities in the city of Yekaterinburg. the paper analyzes the potential of a numberof forms and varieties of coniferous woody plant species and their decorative effect when used in landscaping in accordancewith the approved methods. It is noted that the prospects and decorative value of a number of forms and varieties of theintroduced species can be increased through systematic plant handling throughout the year and taking into account theconditions of placement during planting. The study establishes that in the landscaping of Yekaterinburg, in addition to nativeconiferous species, there is a number of new forms and varieties of coniferous woody plants that can be used, which greatlyadapt to the conditions of an industrial city.At the same time, taking into account a large number of introduced species, forms and varieties of coniferous woody plantsfrom the countries of the near and far abroad, it is necessary to expand the research on their prospects in order to minimizeunjustified costs associated with their diseases and death.
