The Agricultural Research Center is one of the research centers equipped with modern standards in Georgia, where research is conducted in various fields of agriculture. At the base of the center there is an agroforestry research service with its pilot bases, where a live collection of forest species is being cultivated and surveys on agroforestry are being conducted, as well as research of forest genetic resources and planning and implementation of conservation measures, which respond to the international obligations of the country - to protect local biodiversity; studies to obtain virus-free varieties of mulberry, both for the raw material base of silkworm breeding and for the prospective use of mulberry fruit; cultivation, maintenance, replenishment of collectible plantations of forest woody plants.
