Potential evaporation and irrigation regime.

Theoretical foundations for determining and forecasting evaporation both during the whole vegetation period and in separate months atre given. Practical recommendations for forecasting evaporation and using the results to calculate the total surface evaporation of the soil, to adjust the irrigation norms, and to determine the water demand and water supply of crops are presented. The proposed method of predicting evaporation will help to solve such an important problem for agriculture as the regulation of soil moisture during the growing season. Tab. 1, Ref. 5.
