Assessment of crop losses caused by fruit borer Helicoverpa armigera (Hubner) in tomato Lycopersicon esculentum (Mill.) were studied in the Division of Entomology, RARI, Durgapura, during two consecutive years i.e., spring, 2017 and 2018. In protected plots, the mean H. armigera larvae was 0.43 per plant, whereas, it was 1.76 per plant in unprotected plots. The mean fruit damage in protected plots recorded as 10.98%, while it was as maximum 30.08% in unprotected plots. The yield obtained in protected plots marked significant difference 252.17 and 170.86 q/ha in comparison to unprotected plots. The avoidable losses were 31.88%, whereas, the mean increase in yield in protected plots was recorded as 47.16%.
