Rhizoctonia solani is a soil borne plant pathogen having a wide host range including vegetables, cereals, legumes and ornamental crops. In the present investigation, an in-vitro experiment was carried out for testing the efficacy of some commercial fungicides against R. solani. The results revealed that fungicides viz., willonyl (chlorothalonil 75% WP), matco (metalaxyl 8% + mancozeb 64% WP), moncerene (pencycuron 250 SC) and carbastine (carbendazim) inhibited mycelial growth of pathogen. Per cent inhibition of fungal growth under 250 and 500 ppm concentration ranged between 62.50 to 76.58 (willonyl), 88.23 to 93.54 (matco). The fungicides, carbestine and moncerene completely (100%) controlled the R. solani growth at 250 and 500 ppm concentrations.
