The effect of vitamin and mineral supplements on the replication of coronaviruses in the SPEV cell culture | Влияние витаминно-минеральных добавок на репликацию корона-вирусов в культуре клеток СПЭВ

anglais. There was studied an effect of vitamin and mineral supplements (VMS) on the replication of coronavirus in tissue culture. The cytopathic effect of the porcine transmissible gastroenteritis virus (strain TO36SD192 and the vaccine strain RIMS) was studied on the SPEV cell line in the presence of VMS with an increased content of vitamins A and D. The results of the study showed that the introduction of VMS into the growth medium provides an increase in the yield of the RIMS virus by 16.7 - 23% relative to the value of the logarithm on the base of 10, i.e. 10-50 times. At the minimum infectious dose, the presence or absence of VMS did not affect the titer of the virus of the reference strain of the coronavirus TO36SD192. However, an increase in the infectious dose by only one order of magnitude (1000 TDC50/ml) stimulated an increase in the virus titer by 22.5% in the presence of VMS relative to the value of the logarithm on the base of 10, i.e. 100 times. With the addition of VMS, the RIMS strain reproduced more actively and the virus titer in the experiment with the addition of VMS was 30% higher than in the control (no VMS) relative to the value of the logarithm on the base of 10, i.e. 20 times. A further increase in the infectious dose showed a significant increase in the virus titer from 13.4% to 6.25% relative to the value of the logarithm on the base of 10, i.e. 2-10 times. It should be noted that the TO36SD192 virus, well adapted to the SPEV culture, can be compared with viruses that cause seasonal ARVI in humans, which are also well adapted in the human body, and the use of VMS during the peak of the epidemic can stimulate viral replication. Since the RIMS strain virus is poorly adapted to the SPEV culture, its action can be compared with a virus that has entered the human population, for example, SARS-CoV-2. This means that intake of vitamins at any infectious dose (during an epidemic) may stimulate the replication of virus, which will negatively affect the course of the disease.

russe. Исследовали влияние витаминно-минеральных добавок (ВМД) на репликацию коронавируса в культуре ткани. Цитопатическое действие вируса трансмиссивного гастроэнтерита свиней (штамм ТО36SD192 и вакцинный штамм РИМС) изучали на клеточной линии СПЭВ (клетки почки эмбриона свиньи) в присутствии ВМД с повышенным содержанием витаминов А и D. Результаты исследования показали, что введение ВМД в ростовую среду обеспечивает повышение урожайности вируса РИМС на 16,7–23% относительно значения логарифма по основанию 10, т.е. в 10–50 раз. При минимальной заражающей дозе присутствие или отсутствие ВМД не влияло на титр вируса референтного штамма коронавируса ТО36SD192. Однако в присутствии ВМД повышение заражающей дозы всего на один порядок (1000 ТДЦ50/мл) стимулировало повышение титра вируса на 22,5% относительно значения логарифма по основанию 10, т.е. в 100 раз. Штамм РИМС при добавлении ВМД репродуцировался более активно и титр вируса в эксперименте с добавлением ВМД был на 30% выше, чем в контроле (без ВМД) относительно значения логарифма по основанию 10, т.е. в 20 раз. Дальнейшее повышение заражающей дозы показало достоверные повышения титра вируса от 13,4% до 6,25% относительно значения логарифма по основанию 10, т.е. в 2–10 раз. Следует отметить, что хорошо адаптированный к культуре СПЭВ вирус ТО36SD192 можно сравнить с вирусами, вызывающими сезонные ОРВИ у человека, которые также хорошо адаптированы в организме человека, и применение ВМД во время пика эпидемии может стимулировать репликацию вирусов. Поскольку вирус штамма РИМС является слабо адаптированным к культуре СПЭВ, то его действие можно сравнить с вновь попавшим в человеческую популяцию вирусом, например с SARS-CoV-2. А это значит, что прием витаминов при любой заражающей дозе (во время эпидемии) может стимулировать репликацию вируса, что негативно скажется на течении болезни.
