Time series analysis of agricultural crop production area in Cagayan Valley [Philippines]
1979
Andres, G.A. | Della, S.B. (Gregorio Araneta Univ. Foundation, Malabon, Metro Manila (Philippines))
Agricultural development in the Cagayan Valley is still far from completion. Vast tracts of land are not yet fully utilized although numerous government programs are in progress in the region. The total production area is fast increasing, but this was only contributed by few crops like palay, corn, vegetables, onions, coffee, peanuts, and the group of other crops. Results further showed that changes in area for palay, corn, onion, peanut, and the group of other food crops were positively related with the changes in their price levels. Difficulties in marketing still persist, especially among bulky and perishable products, like vegetables, root crops, onions, citrus, fruits, and other crops due to unorganized marketing systems and inadequacy of good roads
