Morphological studied on 6 commercial varieties of Solanum melongena Linn. were done at the Central Laboratory, Kampangsan Campus, Kasetsart University, Nakorn Pathom in November 1980-March 1981. The distinguishing characteristics of Ma Khuea bloc, Ma khuea chao pra ya, Ma khuea saveuy, Ma khuea chan, Ma khuea muang were identified as S. melongena var esculenta, Ma khuea yaao as S. melongena var serpentinum
