Chan, L.C. | Kehoe, M. (Jabatan Haiwan, Sandakan (Malaysia))
Buffaloes are powerful nervous animals, that can be frightened by anything unfamiliar or sudden. Few however are vicious. Various methods of restraint are being discussed. The psychological approach, which involves some experience in buffalo handlings, and restraint by contrivances, is an art which requires experience for efficiency in such application. The control and restraint by sedatives and general anaesthesia is also discussed briefly. The breaking and training of buffalo for work on Oil Palm Estates is referred to as a specialised form of buffalo restraint
