Rabies among dogs in Metro Manila [Philippines]

The results of the rabies examination of dead dogs submitted to the BAI (Bureau of Animal Industry)-National Animal Disease Diagnostic Laboratory from Metro Manila for a period of seven years from January 1972 to December 1978 were reviewed. In this study, it was revealed that Marikina has the highest percentage positive which is 51.8%. Makati has a percentage positive of 4.56%, Manila-11.4%, Paranaque-17.64% and Quezon City-16.26%. The findings in these areas might be quite significant because as compared to the other areas they have a higher number of submitted specimens
