Developing seeds of okra fruit function as a mandatory requirement, during rearing, for both sexes of Earias fabia to facilitate the mated females to deposit highest number of total and viable eggs during a 4-day oviposition period. Data reflecting differences observed in the reproductive potential of the mated female in relation to variable nutritional experiences undergone by her and by her copulated male partner during their postembryonic development are interpreted in terms of larval food quality with particular reference to the composition of free amino acids and water-soluble proteins
