allemand. Acarapis woodi Renni (Acarina, Scutacaridae) and Varroa jacobsoni Oudemans (Acarina, Dermanyssidae) can debilate bee colonies (Apis mellifera) that untreated colonies may die off. Varroa disease can be controlled biological by brood removal and acarine disease by fast sequence of beegenerations. A medicament, which contains isopropyl-4,4-dibrombenzilate, has a good effect against both mites, while at the same time being well tolerated by the bees and the brood
