Seed colour was under the control of three loci each having only two alleles. Codominance, incomplete dominance and epistasis were noted for the expression of these alleles. Seed luster was controlled by two independent loci. Their interactions resulted in a duplicate gene ratio. Study of the joint segregation of seed colour and luster revealed that the genetic systems of these two traits were independent of each other. Leaf lobedness was dominant to entire leaf margin and two loci were identified for this trait. Development of anthocyanin pigment was under the contro1410l of six loci, two pairs of which were linked. In case of ripe pod, black colour was dominant to straw colour and only one locus was involved in the inheritance of this trait. Hairiness in pod was dominant to non-hairiness and two loci were responsible for this trait. Their interactions resulted in a 9:7 complementary gene ra
