Preliminary study of soil sulphur and sulphur fertilizers efficiency in China
1986
Zhongqun, Liu
In China, sulfur deficiencies are chiefly found in provinces south of the Yangtze River and are common in cold spring paddy soil and in soils which are fairly coarse in texture and low in organic matter content. S-fertilizers produce a fairly good effect on increasing the yields of rice and rapeseed. Statistical data from 93 experiments show that the yield of rice in alluvial paddy soil alongside the river is increased by 7.7-8.3%, in paddy fields of hilly regions 16-18%, in the cold spring paddy soil of the Wuchang area 25%, while the production of rapeseed in sandy soils is raised by 21-38%.
