1987
Warrier, A. | Bhardwaj, S.N. (Indian Agricultural Research Inst., New Delhi (India))
'Kalyansona' and 'C 306' bread-wheat (Triticum aestivum Linn. emend. Fiori and Paol.) showed 20.3 and 14.0% reduction in grain number and 36.6 and 34.4% in grain size under water-stress from anthesis to 16 days after, the reduction being more in 'Kalyansona'. The water-stress from 16 days after anthesis till maturity led to 0.3 and 0.8% reduction in grain number in 'Kalyansona' and 'C 306' and 14.0 and 24.3% reduction in grain size, the reduction being more in 'C 306'. The accumulation of starch and proteins and levels of native abscisic acid and cytokinin were found related with the size of the grain
