This study was conducted to investigate the combining ability and heterosis of sesame. 6 x 6 parental diallel analysis were attempted in 1986. Both GCA and SCA for all characteristics except palmitic acid content were significant. It appeared that additive gene actions were more important for yield components, while non-additive gene actions were more important for palmitic acid, oleic acid and linolic acid contents. "Danbaekggae" was the best combiner on yield related characteristics such as plant height, number of capsules per plant grain weight per plant. Expressing of heterosis was significant on yield related ch1315aracteristecs such as plant height, number of branches, number of capsules per plant and 1,000 grains weight per plant. Above results evidently indicated the possible use of F1 hybrid in sesame bree
