Morphological characteristics of stem and leaf and growth habit of selected accessions of winged bean [Philippines]

Five accessions of winged bean were used in the study. UPLB-IPB [University of the Philippines at Los Banos - Inst. of Plant Breeding] accession numbers 138 and 118 were rated good; accession numbers 46 and 137 moderate; and accession number 6 poor. Stem color of the different accessions is green. Leaflet shape of accession number 6, 137 and 118 was ovate while accession number 46 was deltoid and accession number 138 was lanceolate. The number of days from sowing to opening of first flower, length of petiole, number of vegetative nodes, number of main branches 100 days after sowing of the different accessions varied significantly from one another. The number of leaves 100 days after sowing was not significant
