The plants were grown under controlled conditions in greenhouses on quartz sand and in water cultures. The basic nutrition contained following elements: N : P : K : Ca : Mg in constant proportions equa1906l to 1 : 0.50 : 1.25 : 0.40 : 0.10. Two nutrition variants had been used - balanced and unbalanced. It was proved that the plants responded both to the deficiency and the excess of an element in the growth environment by the decrease of biomass production. The growth inhibition was especially high in unbalanced nutrition with excess of N or P regarding to other elements. The growth inhibition was associated with accumulation of these elements in the pl
