Closer spacing and higher rates of fertilizer application significantly increased the height of plants. The diameter of bulbs and yield were also markedly increased by higher rates of fertilizer applied. Both variables had no pronounced effect on the number of leaves per bulb. Application of 120-60-30 gave the most satisfactory results. Plants spaced at a distance of 20 x 30 cm. outyielded the other treatment
