Development of double antibody sandwich enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay for Cymbidium Mosaic Virus
1987
Loi, J.S. (Primary Production Dept. (Singapore). Agriculture Div.)
Control of virus diseases depends on the use of efficient test procedures for the efficient diagnosis of the diseases. Cymbidium Mosaic Virus (CyMV) is the most prevalent virus of economic importance in Oncidium Golden Shower which affects both the vigour of growth and quality of the flower. The double antibody sandwich enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (DAS-ELISA) was developed for indexing CyMV so that disease-free orchids can be micropropagated using tissue culture. The DAS-ELISA was found to be a sensitive and specific test for CyMV. Many samples could also be tested at one time
