Effect of vitamin B2 on growth, feed conversion, mortality and body composition in guppy

The requirements of vitamin B2 were investigated with the guppy, Poecilia reticulata (Peters). The fish were fed purified diets containing six levels (0,2,4,6,8,16 and 32 mg/kg) of vitamin B2 in 14 weeks of feeding studies. For each treatment, there were three replicates. The dietary vitamin B2 level required to provide maximal growth in guppy was found to be approximately 4 mg/kg of diet. All fish fed unsupplemented diets demonstrated poor growth, low feed efficiency and high mortality rate
