The necropsy was performed on 46 naturally dead and 20 killed hens which presented clinical symptoms of muscular dystrophy in an outbreak previously described (see Note I of the present work). The more prominent alterations were seen in the following muscles: gracillis, adductor magnus pectorals and gizzard. They consisted in a yellowish-pinkish discolouration corresponding microscopically with hyalisation, necrosis and infiltration with macrophages.
