Dynamics of assimilation area development in weed associations of wheat and corn crops in the region of Osijek [Yugoslavia]

Surface of the assimilative organs of the most present weed species in some aspects of the crop development has been measured in the wheat and maize crops, and the dynamics in the development of the total assimilative surface has been determined. It has been observed that besides leaves, green stalks present a considerable part in the total assimilative surface. Assimilative surface and the adequate weight of dry matter in the assimilative organs are in high positive correlation. Maximum assimilative surface of the weed communities is on stubble field for the wheat crop and at the end of the vegetative season in the maize c0925
