allemand. Reproduktion und Wachstum sind beim Schwein die physiologisch wichtigsten Vorgaenge. Waehrend im Reproduktionsbereich Massnahmen zur Traechtigkeitsfeststellung und Geburtssynchronisation Eingang in die Praxis gefunden haben, sind bisher keine biotechnischen Einflussmoeglichkeiten auf den embryonalen und foetalen Fruehtod und foetale Fehlentwicklungen moeglich. Im Wachstumsbereich laesst sich bisland durch Einsatz von recombinantem Wachstumshormon ein Reduzieren des Fettanteils erzielen. Weitere Grundlagenforschungen muessen jedoch erst noch erfolgen.
