Bio-assays are hardly suited for assessing amounts of seed dressings on single kernels of wheat. This is mainly due to the difficulty to find adequately sensitive micro-organisms. The content of dyes in seed dressings, however, enables the use of colorimetry. The investigations demonstrate that colorimetry is an objective means for estimating the distribution of fungicidal seed dressings on single kernels
