Using the gas-chromatography of the whole cell fatty acids of samples of plant tissue, Cms can be detected in potato-tuber and eggplant tissue. The modified method of Miller and Berger (1985) allows to carry out the whole procedure within 2 hours. A great number of samples can be prepared parallel
