Effects of variation and interval of ethrel application on tapping groove on dry rubber yield of GT I clone

An experimtnt to study the effects of variation and interval of ethrel application (groove method) on yield of GT 1 clones was conducted at Kaliwining Experimental garden. The experiment was arranged as 2x4 factorial, using Randomized Complete Block Design with four replications. Two variations studied were lace and groove applications, whereas variation in interval of application were one week, two weeks, three weeks, and four weeks respectively. During four months of tapping prior to leaf fall period, it showed that treatment with shortest interval of application did not effect dry rubber yield, but increased the soil lump derived from late dripping significantly on lace and groove applications applied every two weeks,three weeks, and four weeks respectively. Application of ethrel stimulant resulted in significant decrease of dry rubber content on groove application, especially with shortest interval. Besides, bark consumption at each tapping was more than the normal one. Brown Bark disease did not occur during four months, even with the shortest interval of application.
