Ihre Aufgabe ist die Beratung von Betrieben hinsichtlich Minderung von Produktionsabfaellen, aber auch in bezug auf Produktgestaltung, die Beratung von Konsumenten, das Angebot eines Abfalltelefons und die Betreuung von Besuchern oder Schulen. Auch die Oeffentlichkeitsarbeit des Gesamtbetriebs ist hier angesiedelt.
