The effect of different strains of Bradyrhizobium japonicum on three soybean cultivars was investigated in a pot vegetation trial with soil substrate. These parameters were investigated during the growing season: nodulation, nitrogenase activity of nodules, plant biomass and the yield of ripe seeds. With the exception of one strain, the used strains reached higher values of the investigated traits than the control uninoculated treatments in all soybean cultivars. The application of the commercial inoculant Rizobin provided results comparable with the tested strains. Significant differences between the Rhizobium strains and the control were determined in most tested traits. There were not any significant effects of the strain x cultivar interactions in this trial.
