Sprinkler irrigation systems on the Alessandria plain (Italy) and their use during the biennium 1989-1990

In 20 farms on the Alessandria plain, equipped with self-moving sprinkler systems (with rotating drum and hose or central pivot), system components from the source of supply to the irrigated plots have been examined. Referring to the biennium 1989-90 and to the cultivations watered by sprinkling, the most important irriguous parameters and the use grade of the sprinkler systems have been determined. The energy consumption and the agricultural labour utilization have been calculated, referring to the watered surface and also to the water delivered

In 20 aziende della pianura alessandrina, dotate di macchine irrigue semoventi ad ala avvolgibile (rotoloni) e ad ala imperniata (pivot), sono stati analizzati dettagliatamente gli impianti e le attrezzature per l'irrigazione a pioggia, dalla fonte di approvvigionamento alle parcelle irrigue. Con riferimento al biennio 1989-1990 ed alle colture irrigate a pioggia, si e' quindi proceduto a determinare i principali parametri irrigui, nonche' il grado di utilizzazione degli impianti. Sono stati inoltre calcolati i consumi di energia e l'impiego di manodopera, con riferimento sia alla superficie irrigata, sia al volume d'acqua distribuito
