The project Euroregions becomes a very influential form of cooperation of CSFR with neighbouring countries. The map shows that they cover the most important economic regions (North Bohemia, Ostrava, Bratislava) of CSFR. Typical underdeveloped peripheral territories can be found in borderland. At present, all these regions faces new wave of developmental efforts. In this situation environmental dimensions must be emphasized too, because political borders cannot stop movements and flows in biosphere. Some of the regions are critically damaged (immissions, wastes, acid rains), however, on the other hand there are important protected natural areas (national parks). Strongly developed environmental dimensions within Euroregional cooperation schemes, programmes and institutions are needed. This type of crossborder coordination gives an opportunity to minimize transfer of environmental problems across the border and provides space for optimization of future planning.
