In 1988-1990 field experiments on sandy-loam chernozem with tobacco Virginia were carried out. The effect of slow-release N-fertilizers of urea-formaldehyde condensates (MFK) on nutrient resorption during tobacco growth. Urea-formaldehyde fertilizers have released nitrogen slower than urea. Therefore their effect on nitrogen resorption was independent on the activity index and it increased during the vegetation period. MKF have affected most the nitrogen content in the leaf dry matter, its uptake by leaves and the formation of leaf dry matter in the phase of full flowering, i.e. in the time of maximal nitrogen requirement and the most intensive formation of dry matter in leaves.
