[Effect of planting date on yield, oil contents and composition of sunflower hybrids (Helianthus annus L.), with high contents of oleic fatty acid]
1993
Rivera V, Viviana
With the purpose to know the effect of four planting dates in components yield, oil's content, quality of oil, and growth stages, it was studied three high oleic sunflower hybrids. The test was established in 1991-1992 season at the Pirque, Chile, using split plot design with four replications. The planting dates were: October 5th 1991, November 5th 1991, December 5th 1991 and January 5th 1992. The hybrids with higher seed yield were T 846 with 5,008 kg/ha and T 853 with 5,292 kg/ha. During the first planting date. The oil quality, specially oleic acid content, was affected by delay planting date. In this case the hybrids T 846 and T 852 got lower rates than 70% of oleic fat acid, during the last planting date. However the hybrid T 846 during the first planting date showed the higher oleic fat acid with 81.5%. In this study was observed that delay planting date has a negative effect in the seed yield and oil content
