Leeuwin-Naturaliste National Park draft management plan: November 1987 [environmental degradation with relation to beekeeping in Western Australia]
1988
Burking, R.C. | Kessell, A.C. (Western Australian Dept. of Agriculture, Perth. Apiculture Branch)
The Leeuwin-Naturaliste National Park is utilized by 2 commercial beekeepers with a total of 10 registered apiary sites. The Draft Management Plan as prepared by the Department of Conservation and Land Management proposes management strategies based on unsupported evidence that honey bees present an environmental hazard to both flora and fauna within the National Park boundaries. Discussion of these issues are presented and recommendations are made for suitable research to be instigated on the continuation of the available flora resource for the Western Australian beekeeping industry.
