Discusses management and nutrition strategies which can be used to reduce the incidence of Ascites in broiler chickens. As the 'cause' is basically genetic, the problem will remain until genetic selection against susceptibility to the disorder is developed. In the meantime minimising the effects of the disorder to reduce mortality rates is the most effective option.
