Experiments to reduce the rot of grape bunches in the vineyard
1994
Dubitzki, E.
In experiments with non-toxic chemicals, the detergents LQ-215 and Zohar Nat 35, were found to reduce fungal rot of grape bunches. In several experiments, 0.4 of LQ-215 was found to significantly reduce both the number of rotten bunches and the degree of their infection. Addition to LQ-215 of sodium or potassium carbonate failed to improve the protective effect. A new detergent Zohar Nat 35, at 0.4 concentration, was even more effective than LQ-215. LQ-215 treatment reduced the number of rotten bunches to a quarter (1/4) of that in the control, thus indicating the possibility of replacing part of the pesticides used by non-toxic chemicals. To further confirm these results, similar experiments will be conducted in the next fruiting season.
