In the first part of this paper the effect of the floor of cage on the egg production in two commercial hybrids is discussed by using mathematical egg production models (Wood's model and linear regression). The main accent of this part is that egg production data starting at the peak (23rd week of age) and then decreasing could be expected to be fitted as well or better by a linear regression than by Wood model (coefficients of determination: linear regression=0,47-0,59; Wood model=0,49). In the second part of the paper a detailed description of an effect of the floor of cage on the egg weight and hen body weight during production cycle is given. In graphs trends in studied traits among upper, middle and lower floor of cage are presented.
