The purpose of this statistical bulletin is to provide decision makers, planners and economists with relevant and important indicators and characteristics relating to agriculture, food, fishery and forestry in Zanzibar. The bulk of the tables presented has been drawn from the computerized Data Bank being set up by the Agricultural Statistical Unit within the Planning Department. Most of the information published in this bulletin originates from secondary Data sources especially Administrative records; that stems from the current state of the Zanzibar information system for food and agriculture which has relatively neglected the carrying out of area-wide sample survey and censuses. Comparability of data within the country as well as outside may be problematic because fiscal year, calendar year and crop year are used for presentation of administrative records data
