The effect of magnesite flue dust on rumen fermantation processes in rumen-cannulated young bulls of Black-Pied breed was studied in two physiological experiments. The amount of magnesite flue dust eaten by the animals did not influence their feed intake. The values of actual acidity remained within the span of physiological values in the control as well as experimental animals. The level of ammonia N was lower in animals in the experimental group during the whole sampling, however, significant differences (P0.01) were observed only 4.5 and 6 hrs after feeding. The VFA concentration did not change in the individual time periods. We observed a transient moderate diarrhoea without further symptoms in the experimental animals during the first week of the experimental period.
