The influence of auxin and cytokinin on growth of potato meristem

The experiment have been conducted in the Tissue Culture Laboratory of Lembang Horticultural Research Institute (LEHRI, 1250 m asl) since May until December 1992. The treatment were MS media with B5 vits and supplement IAA/NAA concentration (0, 0.10, 0.005, 0.10 mg/l) as auxin sources; BAP/Kinetin concentration (0, 0.25, 0.050 mg/l) as cytokinin sources. The thirty -six media composition, each treatment have 15 replications, and the explant was meristem with 2 primordia leaves from cultivar Granola. The results were percentage of meristem growth 80-100 percent, percentage of contamination 20 percent. There were no differences in visual observation in auxin or cytokinin source and colour of plantlet green or pale green, or albino (colourless). Average number of leaves was 0.40-3.40 and node 0.40-3.30, visual observation showed that the growth of plant was vigorous
