Aide memoire: agricultural sector loan
An Inter-American Development Bank mission visited Trinidad and Tobago to initiate preparation of a proposed agricultural sector reform program. The mission recognised that the government of Trinidad and Tobago must design and implement agricultural policy decisions in the context of the current international agricultural trade regime. It also goes on to state that policy reform should open development opportunities for agriculture, and should be under taken in a way that allows the agricultural sector to adjust to a more competitive environment over a period of transition. The mission looked at price and trade policies, state owned enterprises, agricultural land use policies and public.
