The report discussed institutional developments, technical progress, constraints, issues and the approach and strategy to be adopted for the next two years. The projects has now prioritized candidate crops through farming systems, technical and market research and analysis. Also be concentrating on FSR related to these crops rather than on the systematic screening of crops. The core of this work will be through on-farm research. A methodology for this programme has been developed and trials have started. Targeting will be based on a combination of agroecological, economic and household criteria developed by the project. It is recommended that further additional inputs be considered in the areas of strategic planning and small enterprise development
