The conference brought together over 120 social scientists, students and project participants from more than twenty countries. The conference has contributed to the acceptance and promotion of international contacts. As a result connections have been established with an extensive network of women's projects in rural areas. On the levels of national and international policy and planning, gender issues are receiving a high level of attention.
