The effectiveness of rock phosphate (rp) as a fertilizer on rice plant in flooded peat soil

The objective of this experiment was to study the effectivenes of rock phosphate (rp) in flooded peat soil on the growth, yield and uptake of the N, P, K by rice plants. The experiment was carried out in a greenhouse. Treatment was arranged factorially (2 X 4) in a completely randomized design with six replications. The first factor was the source of P, i.e. RP and TSP. The second factor was the doses of P application, i.e. 0, 45, 90 and 135 kg P2O5 ha at the power of - 1. The result indicated that application of P from TSP increased the percentage of unfilled grain quadratically, but the effect of RP was not significant. The application of P from TSP or RP increased the 1000 grain weight linearly. Tiller and panicle number per hill were affected by P sources, but not by the doses of P. Their responses to RP of 90 P2O5 ha at the power of - 1 were higher than that of TSP. Other growth component and production were not affected by P application. The application of P increased N and P of straw quadratically, N and K of grain uptake linearly, and increased the P availability quadratically after harvest
