One of the vegetables oil sources playing important roles in food industrial raw material is peanut. Artificial seed drying is a crucial effort to dry peanut seed, especially in rainy seasons. The objectives of this studies were to test the system of free convection type of drier for peanut seed drying in rainy seasons and to evaluate seed quality resulted from the drying process. This study was conducted in IPB Bogor. The results showed that by constantly setting temperature between 39-44 degree C, the average of 150 kg peanut seeds needed 60 hours to decrease seed water content from 47.21 percent to 10.23 percent and consumed approximately 86.0 kg fuel of coconut stone. Moreover, seed germination, seed vigor, and seed growth homogenesity of peanut were 94.67 percent, 17.78 percent/ etmal, and 89.00 percent, respectively. Seed quality of peanut resulted from drying fulfilled the standard seed quality required by the Indonesia Department of Agriculture
