The Steering Committee of the Programme for combating desertification and increasing the green area in the Arab region assigned ACSAD the task of preparing a study on the development of green belts projects in the Arab region, which was carried out within the joint UNEP/LAS programme for 1994-1995. The study covered three green belts projects in the Arab region. It was reviewed by Arab experts in the field of combating desertification and was approved by the Steering Committee.
