Investigation on in vitro cultivation of Echinacea purpurea (L.) Moench

The callus tissue of Echinacea purpurea was investigated. The chemical analysis show that the tissue contains cicchoric, caffeic and chlorogenic acids. The total content of polyphenolic compounds was 0.88 percent (calculated as caffeic acid). According to the Carbon Clearance Test the extracts from tissue culture of E. purpurea have the immunostimulatory effects on rats
