A side meeting was held on the occasion of XI IUFRO World Congress in Atalaya, Turkey on October, 1997. The primary result of the discussion was the finding about that the intensive dispute about sustainability forestry makes little sense as long as the most severe influences on forestry come form outside the forestry sector e. g. form land use practises. Therefore, to achieve sustainable forestry, these external activities which have a great impact on forestry also have to become sustainable. For more information please contact [email protected]
