Combining ability analysis for seed yield and seed size over two years in exotic x Indian crosses of lentil

Preponderance of additive genetic variance for 100-seed weight and non-additive genetic variance for seed yield per plant was observed in lentil (Lens culinaris Medik.) in the 1992-94 seasons. Mean squares due to general combining ability (GCA) H year (Y) and specific combining ability (SCA) H Y interactions were highly significant for both characters, the magnitude of the former being greater than that of the latter. KL 86-2, a medium bold-seeded parent was a good combiner for both traits. Precoz Sel. H PL 406 was a good specific combination for both characters
